
Spicy Sesame Edamame
A ten-minute edamame recipe loaded with garlic, sesame and umami flavour.

Ingredients
- 500 g frozen edamame in pods
- 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic thinly sliced
- ½ tsp chilli flakes adjust to taste
- 1 tsp sesame seeds plus extra to serve
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce plus extra to drizzle (optional)
- Flaky sea salt to finish
Instructions
- Bring a small pot of water to the boil. Add the edamame and cook for 3–4 minutes until just tender. Drain well.
- Meanwhile, heat a fry pan over medium heat. Add the olive oil and sesame oil.
- Add the garlic, chilli flakes and sesame seeds. Cook for 1 minute, stirring, until the garlic is lightly golden and fragrant.
- Stir in the soy sauce, then add the drained edamame to the pan.
- Turn the heat to high and toss for 1–2 minutes until the edamame are well coated in the chilli-sesame oil and slightly blistered.
- Remove from the heat and finish with a generous pinch of flaky salt and extra sesame seeds. Drizzle with more soy sauce if needed.
