Poached Queen Garnet Plums | Breakfast Parfait

Queen Garnet Plums poached in their nourishing nectar, perfect for layering a breakfast parfait or topping a comforting porridge.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 Queen Garnet Plums halved and deseeded
  • 250 mL bottle of Queen Garnet Plum Nectar or grape juice if unavailable
  • 250 mL water
  • 3 TBS honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 vanilla pod halved and seeds scraped
  • 1 star anise

Breakfast Parfait (to serve)

  • Your favourite granola
  • Plain yoghurt

Instructions
 

  • Place the halved and deseeded Queen Garnet Plums into a medium pot, pour over the nectar and water along with the remaining ingredients.
  • Place over a medium heat and allow it to simmer for 15-20mins.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool before transferring into the fridge.
  • You can serve immediately warm with some ice cream, or keep in the fridge for a few days.

Breakfast Parfait:

  • To build a breakfast parfait, use a tall glass and simply layer some slices of the poached Queen Garnet Plums with yoghurt and your favourite granola, drizzle with the poaching syrup to finish.
