Vibrant Five Potato Fries

These vibrant five potato fries, infused with a blend of thyme, oregano, garlic, and paprika, are an essential addition to my kitchen. These vibrant five potato fries are a delicious, nutrient-packed way to add variety and plant points to your diet.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Orange Sweet Potato
  • 1 White Skin Purple Flesh Sweet Potato
  • 1 Purple Skin White Flesh Sweet Potato
  • 1 White Skin White Potato
  • 1 Red Skin White Potato
  • 1-2 TBS Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1-2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Dried Herbs like Thyme and Oregano
  • 1 tsp Ground Pepper
  • 1-2 TBS Plain Flour
  • Chives optional, to garnish

Instructions
 

Prep the Potatoes:

  • Wash all the potatoes, cut off any bits of concern, but leave this skin on for extra fibre.
  • Cut them into 1 cm thick fry strips.

Soak and Dry:

  • Rinse the potato strips and soak them in cold water for 10 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • Drain and thoroughly dry the potatoes with a clean tea towel.

Seasoning:

  • Place the dry potato strips in a large bowl.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and a mix of paprika, garlic powder, salt, dried herbs, ground pepper, and plain flour. Toss to coat evenly.

Cooking Methods:

  • Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 180°C (356°F). Place the seasoned potato strips in the air fryer basket and cook for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Oven: Preheat your oven to 190°C (374°F). Spread the seasoned potato strips on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden and crunchy.

Serving:

  • Serve the crispy fries with a high-quality tomato sauce, or a dipping sauce of your choice.
